Ceragem in Chile has been supporting the Nanum School, a volunteer educational program for children from low income families.
The school prepared by Korean companies in Chile and fans of the Korean Wave offers after-school program to 260 students (grade 1 to 8) at Isabel Riquelme School located in Recoleta, an impoverished area in Santiago. Offered two times during the week, programs are centered on music, art, mathematics, and science. Current teachers, college students, and accountants, who are members of the Korean Wave club “Nanum Chile,” serve as volunteers for the after-school program. Ceragem, a global healthcare company, has financially supported this program.
The CEO of Ceragem’s branch in Chile stated: “The Nanum School is a program for students who may not have a place to go after school until their parents are home from work. Ceragem will do its best as a global company with corporate social responsibility.”
In addition, students attending the Nanum School performed Taekwon Pop, which incorporated elements of K-Pop, during the taekwondo competition Copa Corea held in Chile’s Olympic Village on May 7, 2016.
